Securing Healthcare Communication: LEVANTO Group Successfully Implements Zivver

The solution

LEVANTO Group is a healthcare organization based in Limburg, the Netherlands, providing support to individuals struggling with mental health issues who need temporary support. With around 700 employees, many of which work remotely, the organization prioritises data privacy and security. 

We spoke with Daniel Lassauw, Security Officer at LEVANTO Group, to learn why the organization chose Zivver to protect its sensitive communications and how the team is benefitting from advanced encryption and sensitive data detection. 

Switching to a more secure solution 

 LEVANTO Group had previously been using Zorgmail but wanted to improve the email security for employees regularly emailing via mobile devices. 

“Our main concern was mobile communication. Our staff regularly use their phones to send emails, often for client cases.” Says Daniel Lassauw, Security Officer at LEVANTO Group.  

At the start of 2023, LEVANTO Group chose Zivver as its new email security solution. Working with its IT partner and Zivver, the organization rolled out an implementation plan focused on usability, security, and technical integration.

Emailing secure and compliantly from mobile devices 

“Thanks to Zivver, our healthcare professionals can now send emails securely from their mobile phones. This used to be a major risk. Now, we have control over information security and are compliant with laws and regulations.” 

Daniel explained why the organizations chose Zivver over alternative secure email solutions:  

“What I really value is that Zivver actively encourages staff to think: ‘Is this information safe to send this way?’ This awareness is crucial.” 

In addition, employees can now confidently share sensitive client data via email from mobile devices. Zivver alerts users to the presence of sensitive information in the body and attachments of emails, and supports compliance with the NTA 7516.  

Through seamless integration with Outlook, employees now have the ability to share large attachments directly from email, elliminating the need for third party platforms such as WeTransfer. 

For Daniel, visibility into Zivver’s reporting suite is also a huge benefit. 

Implementation: A step-by-step approach 

The implementation went smoothly overall, thanks to collaboration between LEVANTO Group and Zivver. Through training and onboarding—including the Zivver Academy—employees quickly became familiar with the platform. 

“There were a few bumps early on, especially around code sharing. But now, 18 months later, everyone has adjusted well.”
